    12/3/07

    Today during class Ms. Jansen came in and talked to us about our wiki pages. We discussed our project and began to set up our web pages. Ms. Tucker talked to us about our timelines and showed us what she expected. Tonight I worked on the web page and began to look at pictures for our bacteria. We didn't really get much done today besides the timelines.

    I'm kind of freaking out about this whole project. It sounds like a lot of work, but it hasn't been that hard so far. We haven't done much so that’s why it hasn’t been hard. We will see about tomorrow.

 

 

    12/4/07

    Today we spent class working on our projects and asking questions. Meredith and I looked at some skins, which aren’t many, and finally decided on one. I'm trying to get used to this journal thing. I'm not really used to it yet. We were also talking about making a game for our web page using flash, but I’m still working on that. It might take me a while. So far we have done a little research but I’m feeling confident that we can make this web page pretty good.

    I’m trying to deal with all of the work we have in other classes and I'm trying get everything organized so it’s not so hard. The work load is ok right now but I’m expecting it to get harder in the next couple of days.

 

    12/5/07

    Today was really interesting. In class we talked about how to determine whether a web page was ok to use or not. Ms. Jansen showed us some ways to do this. We had a lot of examples of web pages that were bad. Some of the web sites were really funny! My favorite was this lady who thought that she had been taken by aliens and she also said that she was still talking with one of them. There was another web site about MLK but it turned out to be acting against him. It was very disturbing really...

    Tonight I am doing the research because Meredith has practice. Today we have planned that all I need to do today is find another couple of sources and do what I can for the web site. Right now I’m trying to find something good on our bacteria but most of the web sites are labs...

 

    12/6/07

    Today was nothing really special. In class we talked about our projects and continued research. I actually found one web site that had information today so it wasn’t a waste of time. Pressure is starting to build up as we get further into our projects... I do not really like it, but it will pass soon. This weekend will be a relief. Apparently there are some new databases that were made for us so I will have to try them out. Our web page is ok right now...we have spent most of our time researching. The only problem with our research is that we can’t seem to find much about our bacteria. It would be nice if our databases helped us out, but they all say that there were no results found. It starts to bug me after a while so we will see what turns up.

    I have today off so Meredith is taking over. I gave her her day off yesterday so she is responsible for finding what we need. We are sticking to our timeline and we should be in good shape.

 

    12/7/07

    Today we did a lab in class. We took two auger plates and put Staph Epi on one plate and E. coli on the other then we put different types of antibiotics on the plates. This lab is to see what antibiotics work against Staph and E. coli. We didn't get to work on our projects much today so we will have to catch up later.

    This weekend we will have to do a lot of work. We need to find a lot more information so we can get done what we need to. Kind of stressing about how we are going to get this done. I am busy tonight so I will have to get what I need to later.

 

    12/8/07

    Today I haven't been able to get much done. I’ve had to do a lot around my house since my parents are out. Don't think that I will get much time tonight to work but I hope that I have time tomorrow to get something more done. I’ve been trying to finish my English paper and get this done but the paper is taking up a lot of my time.

 

    I'm really tired and pretty stressed about completing this. We still need a couple of more sources and some information on the structure of our bacteria. Hopefully tomorrow will bring some different results.

 

    12/9/07

    Today has been stressful. Trying to finish up this English paper and work on the web page. Sources are still scarce and I don't think we know much about the structure. I looked at some images today but almost all of them are the same picture, or there are ones that have nothing to do what I looked up. I’ve been trying to find a couple of more sources but most of them don't tell me much about our bacteria or they have this weird like words that really confuse me. Not really helpful. Small details about the bacteria are hard to find.

    Tomorrow we will finish in class what is left. I’m almost ready for this to be over. I’m hoping that it will get easier since tomorrow we get rid of our English papers.  Web page looks ok...we need a lot more photos though. Tomorrow we will have to work really hard to get this done.

 

   12/10/07:

    Today in class we finished up our lab about antibiotic resistance and answered all the questions. It turned out that the staph infection didn't grow at all on the dishes, so we spent most of class trying to figure out a reason why. I printed up all my work for the lab and I'm turning it tomorrow.

    Tonight was rather stressful. We need to outline our pages, but haven't gotten too. Tomorrow is a work day, so I think that's when we'll outline the pages and assign who is going to write each one. Hopefully we'll get it done so that we can each get our pages written up. I don't know how well we'll do with time though. Maybe we can work during free period.

 

    12/11/07

    Today in class we got to work on our projects a little. It was nice to be able to work right next to our partner for a change. We organized what we needed to do and we set out what each one of us has to accomplish. It was really useful really. So today I have to do the introduction page which shouldn’t be too hard. We will see though!

I'm pretty calm right now about the project. I think that we are going to be in fine shape. I found a couple more pictures during class but I’m not sure which ones we will use.

 

    12/12/07

    Today we were going to turn in the pre-labs but I completely forgot mine. I went to the library to work on it but then I got this horrible head ache which halted my work. It was really painful. It got so bad that I couldn't look at my screen and felt like I just wanted to go to bed. But anyways...I wasn’t able to get much done today. I really need to finish that introduction. I guess I will see what I can do, but I don't have that much left.

    I'm feeling much better then I was today during science class but still getting work done is hard. We don't have that much left but it would be nice if I had the time to make our home page look good. We will see...

    12/13/07

    Today we worked on the labs but it took up all class so we weren't able to work on our project any. It was a pretty easy lab, kind of fun actually. We stained the bacteria that we had, and looked at the results to see if we could determine what the unknown was.

    I tried to put some color into the project but nothing really fit. We don't have that much left to do so we should be fine this weekend.

    12/14/07

    Today Ms. Tucker just talked to us about our web pages. She told us to check everything for spelling errors and such. As a class we also made up a sample evaluation so we would know what to do. It shouldn't be that har

    Tonight I need to look over what i have done for errors and make sure it looks good.

    12/15/07

    Today all we have to do is editing. Meredith has done this really cool picture with Photoshop. It looks really good. It is so much better then what we had before. I'm not sure how much time I’m going to be able to have tonight because I have to help get the house and myself ready for us to leave. I leave Tuesday morning so that means that we will have to do the presentation on Monday.

    It’s getting really close to presentation day! I’m really curious to see what the other groups have on their website. I'm pretty confident that we will get a good grade on ours. 

 

    12/16/07

    Today I'm just finishing up my journal, and editing it. Meredith has practice today from 3-5 so she needs this before then. The only problem is that I won't have internet for a while. Hopeful I will get home before 1 so I can get it to her.

    I'm freaking out about this project because of sending it in at 5. I hope that we will be able to. I’m going to be busy today so if it works out I should be able to send it in.
